Fans can back Streubel for football honor

Local football fans can help Coupeville's Nick Streubel become the Everett Herald's Defensive Player of the Year by casting votes for the Wolf lineman.

The Herald chose 11 area players for the honor and is asking readers to vote for the candidate of their choice.

Streubel recorded 10 sacks and 76 tackles this fall in eight games.

As of Tuesday morning, Nov. 26, Streubel was in second place with 3,405 votes, 28.63 percent, to Lakewood's Jeff Harrison, who has 5,514 votes, 46.36 percent.

Voting ends at noon Friday, Nov. 29.
