Wolf trio snag football honors

Small school. Big results.
A young football team on the rise added to its trophy case recently as three Coupeville High School gridiron stars captured top honors at a prestigious football camp run by former National Football League standout Lawyer Milloy.
Wolf junior defensive back Jake Tumblin, junior lineman Nick Streubel and senior lineman Caleb Valko each placed in the top two in their position group at the camp at Pacific Lutheran University July 14-17. Competing against more than 150 athletes, CHS accounted for three of the camp's top 15 players, while Tumblin was selected as the MVP for the defensive backs.
That honor meant quite a bit, as Milloy, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, three time All-Pro pick, Super Bowl champion and one of just 10 players to record both 20 or more interceptions and sacks in a career, played defensive back himself for all fifteen years he laced it up in the NFL. Milloy closed out his career wearing a Seattle Seahawks uniform, bringing full circle the story of a true-blue home grown star who played for Lincoln High School in Tacoma before developing a love for purple as a hard-hitting assassin at the University of Washington.
Milloy's camp, one of many run since 1983 by Sports International, is part of a hugely successful chain.
Sports International's football camps have graduated 91,000 athletes, with many going on to play college ball. Eleven former campers, including current New York Jets linebacker Aaron Maybin and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Byron Leftwich, have had NFL careers.
