George S. Hawkins, 78, passed away on Jan. 6, 2016 at Whidbey General Hospital.

Beloved husband and father, George retired from the US Navy in 1977 and worked for Boeing until retiring in 2002.

George enjoyed building models and flying kites with the Whidbey Island Kite Flyers club.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lillian Hawkins.

George will be greatly missed by the family he leaves behind: his wife of 45 years, Sharon; sons Matthew and Daniel; brothers Robert and Clifford; and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, at The Living Hope Foursquare Church — 105 N.W. Broadway Ave., Coupeville.
