OLF flight operations scheduled Aug. 18-22
Field Carrier Landing Practice operations for aircraft stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station are scheduled at the Outlying Field Coupeville, Wash., Aug. 18, 19, 21 and 22, 2014.
Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 18 and 19, training at OLF Coupeville is scheduled from early in the morning until late at night. On Thursday, Aug. 21, training is scheduled to begin at OLF Coupeville in the evening until late into the night. Training at OLF Coupeville is also scheduled to begin late in the morning on Friday, Aug. 22, and conclude early that afternoon.
Flight operations are subject to change due to weather, operational and/or training requirements.
Residents living in Coupeville and around the OLF should anticipate an increase in jet noise.
NOTE: NAS Whidbey officials have identified key summer dates flight operations will NOT occur at OLF. These dates are:
- Saturday, June 14 through Monday, June 16
- Friday, July 4 through Sunday, July 6 for the extended Independence Day weekend
- Friday, Aug. 8 through Sunday, Aug. 10 for Coupeville’s Arts and Crafts Festival
