Island County starting inspections

Appraisers from the Island County Assessors Office will be inspecting homes over the next six months in a 10-mile radius in the area of Greenbank and Freeland.

The appraisers are inspecting homes for critical information on the current quality and condition of homes and buildings, changes to land characteristics, new construction effecting value and any negative impacts to your property value.

Appraisal staff wear required badges to identify themselves, carry business cards and drive a county-identified vehicle. They will knock at the property door first before measuring or photographing the exterior of your home to insure the Assessor’s records are accurate.

All appraisers are deputized and Washington state law authorizes access onto property for this inspection.

Contact the Island County Assessor’s Office at 360-679-7303. Business hours are 9 a.m - 4 p.m. Monday thru Thursday.
