Power outage shuts down Coupeville

About 2,700 Puget Sound Energy customers around Coupeville lost power for about an hour Wednesday morning. Power went out around 8:30 a.m., said Lindsey Walimake, Puget Sound Energy spokeswoman.The outage was caused by a failed piece of electrical equipment that caused the distribution circuit to trip off, she said.Power was restored in two phases. At 9:25 a.m., power was restored to 1,000 customers and then the remaining 1,700 customers had power restored at around 9:40 a.m., Walimake said.
