Coupeville, Clinton ferry committees need volunteers

Volunteers are being sought for the Clinton Ferry Committee and the Coupeville Ferry Committee.

Members are appointed by the Island County commissioners for four-year terms.

Each committee has three members.

Under state law, no more than two members, at the time of their appointment, may be of the same major political party. Applicants must state their party affiliation when they apply.

The Ferry Advisory Committee meets as needed to discuss the concerns of the ferry user groups and relay that information to lawmakers in Olympia. Service on the Ferry Advisory Committee is without fee or compensation.

Send a letter of interest and statement of qualifications to the Island County Board of Commissioners, Attn: Pam Dill, Re: Ferry Advisory Committee Vacancy, P.O. Box 5000, Coupeville, WA 98239; fax 360-679-7381; e-mail pamd@co.island.wa.us.

The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27. For information, call 360-679-7353.
