Comeback helps Wolves top Pioneers in baseball

In a baseball game that had a little bit of everything, the best ingredient was a Coupeville win as the Wolves nipped Nooksack Valley 9-8 at Robert Sherman Field Saturday.
The win helped ease the loss of a conference double header at Lakewood Friday.

Two visiting pre-med students discovered a human jawbone on a beach in Coupeville last week.
Coupeville police launched an investigation, but Marshal Lance Davenport said there is little cause for public concern as the remains appear to be very old.

Coupeville High School girls turned in a strong performance at the Island Track Jamboree in Oak Harbor Thursday, March 14, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
South Whidbey and Lakewood joined Oak Harbor and Coupeville in the season-opening event; no team scores were tallied.

Coupeville girls tennis team wins first two matches

It was worth the wait. After two rainouts to start the season, the Coupeville tennis team finally hit the courts and defeated host Friday Harbor 5-0 Friday, March 15, and visiting Lakewood 4-1 Monday.
For the Friday Harbor match, coach Ken Stange said, “We played...we won...it rained...we bought food...we ate cheesecake on the float home.”
