I have known Angie Homola for a number years, including her time as an Island County commissioner. She was, and is, dedicated to the welfare of the community. While Angie has not agreed with me on some issues, she was always available; she listened, and, most importantly, does her homework regarding topics that affect this county.

When she was in office, the county was in dire straits financially. Angie gave back a total of $37,000 of her own pay and at the end of the day, the county earned an A1 bond rating while maintaining essential programs. That is real leadership by example.

Regarding representation, earlier this year I contacted another state official in my district, Sen. Barbara Bailey, regarding legislation that would directly affect me. The first response looked like a typical canned response.

After I pushed back on that response and what I think was outdated information on the piece of legislation, I never heard back.

When you have pages listing out of state companies funding your campaign, you really don’t have time to address the issues of the people who live right here in your own community.

I am voting for Angie Homola.
