Editor,

Beth and I are truly without words that express our gratitude and appreciation to so, so many people who spent their time and money and a magnificent Sunday afternoon to honor us with a fundraiser at the Coupeville Recreation Hall on May 1.

The time and effort put into organizing and orchestrating such an event can be huge, not to mention the cost, and we are touched beyond belief. Seven of the most amazing restaurants on Whidbey Island came together and provided an astounding meal that was second to none. They were Christopher’s, The Oystercatcher, Frasers Gourmet Hideaway, Front Street Grill, Toby’s Tavern, Penn Cove Shellfish and Ciao, and awesome dessert by Kapaws Iskreme. Thank you so very much for the wonderful food and hard work.

The musicians who gave their time and talent were our friends Skinny Tie Jazz, Wayne Hayton, Marcus Whiting, DB Jazz and Broken Banjo and your input, friendship, and help is greatly appreciated.

There are so many others to thank as well, all the many friends and family who volunteered their time and energy to make sure the event was a success, including; Carmen McFadyen, Liz and Dale Shermen, Judy Lynn, Roger Anglum, Mark Wacker, Mitch Larsen, Valerie Reuther, Lisa Wurzainer, Emma Puharic, Many Murdi, Branch Business Services, Rick Castellano and Island County Historical Society, Willowood Farm, Denis Hill, and Sysco, to name just a few.

Through the event and the benefit account at People’s Bank you have generously donated $29,259 and counting!

The love and kindness displayed by the people here on Whidbey Island is truly the closest thing to a religious experience that could ever be. We are proud and honored to be able to call each and every one of you our brothers and sisters.

Most importantly thank you our new and old friends who came by and participated and those who gave to the fund so much for caring and giving and we send you nothing but love and light. See you at the next Johnny Bulldog show!
