October 24, 2012 · Updated 1:00 PM

Island County Historical Museum will host Archaeology Day  from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the museum, 908 NW Alexander St., Coupeville and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coupeville Library, 788 NW Alexander St.

“Bring in your beachcombing finds or backyard discoveries to have them identified,” said Museum Director Rick Castellano.

Certified Archaeologist Gary Wessen and Swinomish Tribal Historian Larry Campbell will be on hand to answer questions and identify items at the museum.

A slide show from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coupeville Library will highlight some of Wessen’s more interesting digs and showing examples of significant finds from our region.

Archaeology Day is being held in conjunction with National Archaeology Month.

Admission to both events is free. For information, call 360-678-3310.
