Goosefoot, Bayview Farm and Garden, and the Bayview Farmers Market host Apple Day at historic Bayview Corner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, featuring the annual Mutt Strut dog parade and costume contest.

Staff from Bayview Farm and Garden will be hand-pressing apple cider and hosting an apple-tasting experience.

Dress up your favorite canine and compete for such prizes as best costume, best owner-and-dog costume combo, best trick and best celebrity dog.

Whidbey’s famed Conductor of Fun Jim Freeman will again emcee the festivities.

Mutt Strut registration begins at noon, and the parade is at 1:30 p.m.

Apple Day is part of the Bayview Farmers Market, with more than 50 vendors. Other Apple Day festivities include an apple-stacking contest for all ages, live music, local wine tasting, and booths with representatives from animal organizations.
