Any adult coping with the death of a loved one within the last two years is welcome to participate in ongoing grief support groups on Whidbey Island.
The informal groups, led by a facilitator, encourage participants to share experiences and feelings, learn about the grieving process and find support.
The Oak Harbor group will meet at the Senior Center at 51 SE Jerome St. Monday, Sept. 10, Oct. 8 and Nov. 19, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 pm. No registration is required.
The Langley group meets the second Monday of each month from September through November at 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Senior Center located at 14595 Hwy. 525. Pre-registration is required.
There is also an ongoing support group for parents and grandparents whose children of any age have died. The group, which meets at the Hospice of the Northwest office, 819 S. 13th St., Mount Vernon, meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 10, Oct. 1 and Nov. 5. Preregistration is also required for this group. Call 360-814-5589 to register for the Langley or Mount Vernon groups.
