Coupeville Chamber of Commerce honored several members Feb. 6 during its annual awards banquet.

The big winner of the night was Dan Miranda and Front Street Grill, which won Business of the Year.

Chamber officials said Miranda, who owns two businesses in Coupeville,  has been involved in all aspects of the community with his family and always has the interests of Coupeville at heart.

Newly located Vail Wine Shop owners Larry and Patsy Vail were awarded the Entrepreneurial Spirit award.

The criteria for that award is that the entrepreneur takes vision and turns it into a profitable reality.

The Vails recently moved their shop from Mariner’s Court across the street to the former Windjammer Gallery building located along the waterfront.

The new location is proving more visible.

Ken Hofkamp, of Prairie Center Red Apple, won the Lifetime Achievement award, which is awarded to a business or individual who has made a significant impact on the community.

Hofkamp has been in business for more than 40 years and he is involved in numerous organizations and supports many activities throughout the community.

The final award presented was the Business Leadership award, which was given to Beth Kuchynka of Bayleaf.

The award is bestowed upon someone who goes above and beyond in their business, civic and community involvement and created a lasting and beneficial impact on local business.

Kuchynka is an active member in the business community, bringing the successful Red Ticket Drawing to the community each year.

As part of her award, she will serve as grand marshal in Coupeville’s annual Memorial Day Parade.

During the annual banquet, the chamber also installed its 2014 board of directors.

Presidents are Lisa and Jug Bernhardt, from Pacific Northwest Art School. Vice president is Janet Burchfield, from Front Street Realty.

Treasurer is Linda Saylor, from Whidbey Coffee, and secretary is Trish Rose, from Whidbey General Hospital.

Board of directors are Hofkamp, Miranda, Matt Iverson, Dale Offrett, Christy Kellison from Keystone Cafe and Shelli Trumbull from Cascade Insurance.
